She shared her wellness tips that will have you transformed in a month’s time.
Donna Trana (@donna.trana) is a health and wellness guru who often shares her nutritional recipes and workout routines on TikTok.
In a video, she promised her viewers that if they followed her five habits for a month, they would “look like a whole new person by the end.”
She began: “Just because it’s May doesn’t mean it’s too late to get summer body ready.”
WALKING
She said her first tip was an obvious one: walk every day.
“Walking is a low intensity, steady state cardio, which means your body is more likely to use stored fat instead of carbohydrates for fuel.
“Plus, it’s low impact so you can do it every day. No excuses.”
MINDFULNESS
Her second one was a little more unexpected.
“The next thing you’re going to do is start some mindfulness practice. That can be journaling, yoga, meditating, breath work, whatever you want.”
How is this supposed to improve your figure?
“It puts you in tune with your body, and the more that you appreciate your body, the better you want to treat it.”
EXERCISING
Donna said it’s important to do some sort of workout at least five times a week, though she said seven is even better,
“And remember, whatever makes you happy is great. I would recommend doing strength training because that builds muscle, which means you’ll burn more calories at rest.”
She also likes to mix in Pilates because it is low impact.
“But if those aren’t forms of movement that you can stick to, just pick something that you really enjoy – it can literally be dancing – and do that.”
PROTEIN
Her fourth tip is one we’ve heard time and time again: eat enough protein.
“It burns the most calories to digest and it’s absolutely essential for building muscle, which we established is how you’re going to increase your basal metabolic rate,” she said, referring to the calories you burn at rest.
Donna advised sneaking protein into all of your meals, as it will also help you feel full.
BALANCED DIET
“The last thing you’re going to do for the rest of the month is eat homemade, whole foods 80% of the time.”
Rather than restrict yourself completely, she said it’s important to have balance.
“Giving yourself the room to enjoy life and eat what you want is super important for a sustainable approach to fat loss.
“If you’re eating well 80% of the time, the body is still getting the nutrients it needs, but you’re not miserable and feeling like you’re missing out on life.”
