Now, an article online has revealed the way one of our favourite tropical fruits grows – and it is blowing people’s minds.
Now, a gardening website has revealed how you can begin growing your very own pineapples, but using the top of one.
By cutting a ring off the top of the pineapple and trimming it until the core is left with the leaves on top, you have a starter seed.
Then, peel off the leaves to reveal the layered stem – and add into a pot with compost and soil.
Your pineapple will begin to grow roots, and from there, will form a bush which the fruit grows out of.
Users online were shocked after learning how the fruit grows, and how easy it is to plant your own.
One user remarked: “I was today years old when I realised pineapples don’t grow on trees.”
Many others were shocked at the realisation, and said they hadn’t realised either.
A user replied: “They just don’t look real growing like that!”
One Twitter user wasn’t pleased: “Every once in a while I remember how pineapples grow and get mildly annoyed for a few seconds.”
Earlier this week, social media users were shell shocked after realising how chickpeas grow.
An Instagram user shared a video showing a sprouting chickpea plant that was green-leafed and the size of a small plant.
Eventually, it was seen at full-size with pods growing everywhere.
The informative clip attracted more than 35,000 likes and left most foodies amazed.
“I had no idea what a chickpea plant looks like,” an Instagram user said.
“Wow I had no idea either, it looks similar to moringa,” one added.
“Wow so cool, we eat green pods like that in Pakistan as well,” a second remarked.
Another gardening whizz has revealed a super simple way to keep your plants watered all year round with minimal effort.
One expert claimed there were tonnes of jobs to do this May to ensure you get the most out of the growing season.
