Content creator Madison Brandy (@madisonssquaregarden) is holding down the fort with her backyard garden.

She documents her family’s backyard gardening journey on TikTok.

She picked up several tips and tricks and regularly shares them with viewers.

In a TikTok video, she gave viewers a quick tip to help their plants grow quicker using a popular fruit.

“Since my kids eat so many bananas, I figured it’s time to make some banana fertilizer,” she said as the video began.

The hack is so simple and only needs banana peels, a glass jar, and water.

She demonstrated firsthand how she places banana peels in a mason jar and filled it to the brim with water.

She secured it with the top but warned viewers not to screw it on too tight because they’re “kind of fermenting this.”

Madison said that she lets the jars sit in the sun for a few days and then pours the liquid into a bigger container, like a milk jug.

To be environmentally friendly, she tosses the leftover banana peels into the garden to be absorbed into the soil.

She pours the banana water into a watering jug and adds more water to it to simply water her backyard plants.

“It’s so great for your plants because banana peels are so rich in calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, and potassium,” she said. “All of which a plant needs for good growth.

Many people were on board with her plant growth recipe and shared their own take in the comments.

“I currently have 25 banana peels soaking in a 5-gallon bucket,” a viewer commented.

“I use to do this with garden clippings as well, as I didn’t compost, I called it my ‘garden’s tea’. I get a lot of nutrients back into the soil,” a fan praised.

“I do it every week in an old pitcher,” another chimed in.

“My plants love this too,” a TikTok user shared.
