EMMERDALE fans are fearful for a trusting Mary Goskirk as she refuses to question Faye’s story, despite warnings from Suzy.

Mary, who recently came out, falls head over heels in love with Faye (Kim Thomson) and is soon persuaded to help fundraise for a “charity project abroad”.

But Emmerdale revealed that Mary will be left heartbroken as Mary donates £20,000 of her own money and Faye scarpers with it.

This comes after Suzy Merton (Martelle Edinborough) warned Mary about whether her charity was real.

Faye started acting strangely about a bank transfer from Mary, which sparked red flags for Suzy.

She told Mary to look at her charity’s website and its lack of detail and photographs of current projects.

However Mary refused to question her girlfriend’s story and replied: “Faye isn’t doing anything dodgy.”

Suzy encouraged Mary to talk to other people who work for the charity and ask further questions.

But Mary is certain that Faye is telling the truth and proves it by transferring her money.

Suzy told her: “I hope for your sake I am wrong.”

Viewers of the ITV soap were fearful for Mary being scammed.

Taking to Twitter, one viewer said: “I predict a scene with a forlorn Mary waiting at the airport for no-show #romancefraudster Faye.”

Another wrote: “Listen to Suzy, Mary!”

A third penned: “Oh Mary!!!! So gullible!!!! Screaming at the TV don’t transfer the cash…then what does she do !!”

Talking about her storyline, actress Louise explained: “She has only recently come out and she is like a 14-year-old teenager when she falls for Faye.

“She thinks she has finally found her forever partner but then Faye turns into Cruella de Vil and takes everything!

“Soap is a great place to debate dangerous issues. Just as we have had Paddy’s recent suicide story, the soap is now looking at scamming.”

Next week, viewers will see Mary left injured after a physical fight breaks out between her and Faye.

It comes after Mary finally learns the truth about her partner. Will she make it out unscathed after being left for dead?

Emmerdale airs weeknights on Friday at 7pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
