His organic method for ant control in the garden uses an orange, leaving a citrusy smell.
Destin (@texasgardenguy) showed off his plants in a video posted to TikTok.
Destin recounted a common occurrence for plant lovers in the hotter months.
“Winter is almost over and you’re getting your plants ready for spring.
“You’re noticing there’s a lot of ants in your pots,” he said.
The Texan shared his solution to the pest problem.
“I’ve got an awesome solution for the ants and it’s organic orange oil,” he revealed.
He shared his methods for utilizing orange oil for pest control.
“So the first method we’re going to use is called a soil drench.
“This is four ounces per gallon. We’re going to shake it up really good and mix it in with that water,” he said.
He made note of the pleasant aroma coming from his gardening hack.
“Kind of looks like orange juice now,” he said. “Smells like orange juice, too.”
He proceeded to pour the mixture all over the pot, watching the ants come out of the pot.
“The other method you can do is putting it in a sprayer,” he said. “It is two ounces per gallon.”
He proceeded to directly spray the plant with the mixture, keeping the critters at bay.
