April 28 (UPI) — Texas authorities say they have arrested and charged four people in connection to a shooting that wounded 11 people during an after-prom party Sunday.

The Jasper County Sherriff’s Office identified the suspects as Tracy Hickman, 19, and Cheston Hartsfield, 18, who were located in DeRidder, La. Cameron Hartsfield, 19, was located in Tyler County, and Tyler Porter, 19, was located by Newton County Sheriff’s Office and transported to Jasper County Jail.

Jasper County Sheriff Mitchel Newman said all four were charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a first-degree felony, and engaging in organized criminal activity, a second-degree felony

Authorities also said the suspects were involved in organized crime.

The shooting occurred shortly after midnight as hundreds of people were gathered at a residence in the small town of Jasper, which is located approximately 230 miles southeast of Dallas.

Newman said that investigators executed a search warrant at a private residence on Highway 190 East in Newton and said investigators found evidence “relating to the prom shooting.”

Newman also said the motive involved an ongoing feud between the four.

“It would be safe to say that it was not accidental,” Newman said, according to NBC News. “There’s been a lot going on for months between these two groups of young men and not only in our county but in Newton County, too, and it finally came to a head over here.”

Three of the suspects were arrested at the same Newton residence on Thursday and the fourth suspect was arrested later the same day.

No one was killed in the gunfire.
