Occasional Digest - a story for you

MONEY can buy anything, but some people say that money can’t buy happiness or in one woman’s case, taste – at least according to online commenters.

One influencer showed off her whopping $30,000 Coachella fit and her followers said it proves that wealth doesn’t necessarily mean style.

Polina (@polina.nioly) showed off the outfit she put together for Coachella in a video with over 400,000 TikTok followers.

She started off with her top, a white floral halter from the brand Blumarine, which came in at $990.

Next came accessories, which made up the bulk of her expenses, with flashy jewelry from Hermes, Cartier, Valentino, Van Cleese, and Dannijio that clocked in a $27,800.

For bottoms, she went with a skirt from Diesel which set her back $1090.

Last but not least, to carry her festival necessities, she carried around a Marc Jacobs teddy backpack, $480.

“Going hardcore this year,” she said, adding the hashtag #Coachella2023.

People took to the comments to share their thoughts — many viewers were not impressed despite the outfit’s hefty price tag.

“Money definitely can’t buy style,” said one commenter.

“Just cause it’s expensive doesn’t mean it looks good,” agreed another.

“Money can’t buy taste,” said a third.

The comments reflect a growing backlash against Coachella’s outfit du jour, which often consists of bras, briefs, jewelry, and little else, which one style expert exclusively told The U.S. Sun can work for some, but often runs the risk of looking cliche and juvenile.
