One cleaning fan has shared how she got rid of mould in her bathroom after trying everything she could to stop it coming back.

Sarah McGlory shared her method in a TikTok video online.

She said: “If you have mould in your shower tub, chances are high that you are not going to want to clean yourself in there, and you’re not going to want to clean those spaces because what’s the point?”

Sarah explained she had tried everything she could to get rid of the mould in her bathroom but it kept coming back.

“I would bleach the mould, it would appear to go away, and then it would be back in like two days.”

Sarah found that the only way to completely rid her bathroom of mould was to remove the caulking in her shower.

She said: “I removed all the caulking from my shower in April of last year.”

“I found out that bleach can actually push the mould further back into.”

“And when you’re renting or buying, landlords will often paint the caulking to make it look white and really the mould behind it, and it’s always gonna keep coming back.”

Sarah said the process was a lot simpler than she expected.

“So I wanted to show you the process of removing and recocking your shower or bath because it is pretty easy, although it takes a long time and it’s cheap.”

Sarah said she got the job done pretty quickly with some jewellery tools she had.

She said: “I mostly used jewellery tools & worked as fast as I could, but it made a huge difference in my desire to clean my bathroom.”

Sarah’s video gained over 700,000.

Many viewers said they could relate to Sarah’s struggle says they too needed to remove and replace their caulking in order to get rid of mould.

One user said: “This is the exact video I needed to see. I need to do this.”

Another said: “Yes, replacing the caulking is often the only way! I’ve wanted to try doing this myself!”

A third viewer said: “I JUST told my husband we needed to figure this out. Thank you!!”
