Paddy, Coleen, Joe Thomas and Ellie Taylor tried to impress judges Paul Hollywood, 57, and Prue Leith, 83, in a number of challenges in the Great British Bake Off tent.

As Top Gear host Paddy watched his ginger biscuits bake the oven, an intrigued Coleen wanted to know what he was making.

The Loose Women star asked him: “What the hell is that?”

Paddy replied: “That’s nice. That’s encouraging… ‘what the hell is that’.”

The TV favourite gasped when he realised that the cake had collapsed in the oven.

As he took it out, he said: “Oh no. That’s not good. I don’t know what to do.”

Paddy then scooped it all up off the floor and told the camera: “They’ll never know.”

The Take Me Out Presenter then started to make another batch, which was supposed to resemble Barrow Bridge Chimney in homage to his hometown of Bolton.

It comes after co-star Coleen said she had to be “bullied” into taking part on The Great Celebrity Bake Off because her cooking is so poor.

“I literally look at toast and it burns, I don’t know how to do it,” Coleen said.

“I said to my manager ‘You’re going to have to bully me into this’, as my initial reaction was to say no,” Coleen told the Mirror.

“I was really proud I’d done it, because it’s one of those ‘feel the fear and do it anyway’,” she continued.

The Great Celebrity Bake Off is on Sundays at 7.40pm on Channel 4.
