The father of little Taylen Mosley of St. Petersburg, Florida, has been arrested and hit with charges related to the tragic deaths.
The boy’s father has now been arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree murder.
Police said that they saw the gator with an object in its mouth at Lake Maggiore and fired a shot on Friday afternoon.
The animal dropped the body, and officers determined that it was sadly little Taylen.
“It is with great sadness that Taylen Mosley has been found,” Chief Anthony Holloway said in a press conference.
His cause of death is still unclear.
Taylen’s disappearance sparked a massive search after his mother Pashun Jeffery, 20, was found dead in their apartment on Thursday.
Chief Holloway previously said: “I can tell you it was a very violent homicide scene within the apartment.
“But we could not find the two-year-old. So right now, that’s our main concern — is to try and find Taylen.”
On Wednesday, neighbors reported that Taylen’s father went inside the home and there was a commotion.
The dad reportedly left the home with cuts on his arms and checked himself into the hospital.
The following day, family members requested a wellness check, and officials discovered Pashun inside.
Taylen was nowhere to be found.
It’s still unclear how Taylen disappeared or what happened to him after Pashun’s death.
