The TikToker said that her workout outfit led to multiple “complaints” and she was asked to cover up.
Kylee Anderson (@kyleecanderson) said that an employee at her local YMCA told her that she had to change because “there were complaints” and her ensemble went “against the gym’s dress code.”
She said she was wearing a pair of high-waisted leggings and a crop top, which showed off a sliver of midriff.
“I was livid,” she wrote in the comments of her clip, adding that it sent her on a rant on social media.
“I want to wear what I feel cute and comfortable in,” she said while revealing that she was “embarrassed” by the ordeal.
In a follow-up video, Kylee modeled the offending outfit, showing the white cropped tank top and blue leggings that caused a stir.
“This is the exact outfit I was wearing when I was stopped in the middle of my workout at my gym and forced to put on a large T-shirt,” the TikToker said.
Showing her followers her outfit, she sarcastically pointed out: “But guys can wear cut-offs?
“Makes sense.”
Other TikTok users took to the comments section to share their thoughts on the confusing incident.
“What???? There’s literally NOTHING wrong with your outfit,” said one person.
“Canceled my membership at my old gym because of this,” shared one viewer.
Another user said: “I’m so angry about the fact that girls are always forced to not show too much skin and boys run around with no shirt.”
Kylee’s video received hundreds of comments and more than 30,000 likes.
