A police search is underway for two men lost while gold prospecting in remote north-west Tasmania.
Tasmania Police said the men contacted family members about 8:20pm on Thursday to advise they had become lost in the Mengha area.
Police said the men, named as Cody Evans and Joshua Heel-Murray, had advised they were “heading to the Spion Kop Road area to prospect”.
The men are understood to be travelling in a “white older style Mitsubishi Pajero”.
Police resources, including the Westpac Rescue Helicopter, are involved in the search effort.
Anyone who has seen the vehicle, or the missing men, is asked to contact police on 131 444.
