Occasional Digest - a story for you

Manchester Pride has announced the return of its hugely popular Festival, taking place on August bank holiday weekend later this year.

The events of Manchester Pride Festival 2023 are free to attend with the exception of the Gay Village Party, tickets for which can be purchased through Ticketmaster from 12pm on Wednesday 8 March.

Manchester Pride Festival, which brings thousands of people onto the streets of the city each year, has revealed its huge programme of events and activities, which will kick off on Friday 25 August, with celebrations rounding off on Monday 28 August.

Mark Fletcher, CEO of Manchester Pride, said: “We’re delighted to announce the return of Manchester Pride Festival 2023 with an exciting schedule of events and our partnership with Booking.com.

“We know how important it is to make the festival as accessible as possible, which is why six out of the seven events are free to attend. £2.50 from each ticket sale goes directly to the Manchester Pride Community Fund, details of which can be found on our website.”

The Festival is made up of several fringe events, providing opportunities to advocate for LGBTQ+ equality, engage families and young people, and celebrate queer arts and culture. These include: Manchester Pride Parade, Gay Village Party, Candlelit Vigil, Superbia Weekend, Human Rights Forum, Family Pride MCR and Youth Pride MCR

Day tickets and weekend tickets are available, with all events scheduled on Monday 28 August free to attend, and low income, family tickets, and VIP options available. £2.50 from every ticket will be donated to the Manchester Pride Community Fund, with the money going directly to LGBTQ+ causes and projects in Greater Manchester through the distribution of grants.

Weekend: £37.50
Friday ticket: £21.00
Saturday ticket: £31.00
Sunday ticket: £31.00
Monday ticket: Free plus £2.50 donation
