A 29-year-old man has died after being shot by police in Sydney’s south-west.
A critical incident investigation is underway after the incident in William Street, Yagoona just before 9.00am.
New South Wales Police said officers were responding to reports of a domestic violence-related incident at a home.
Police allege the officers were threatened by an armed man, and a Taser was used before a police officer fired a gun.
Police said first aid was rendered to the injured man before the arrival of NSW paramedics.
He was then rushed to Liverpool Hospital where he later died.
Police said a critical incident team with officers from State Crime Command’s homicide squad will now investigate what happened, including the discharge of a police firearm.
