A MAN was found dead near a town centre shopping area earlier this morning.

Police were called to the Longfield Centre in Prestwich in Bury, Greater Manchester, at around 7am.

Cops had earlier received reports of concern for the welfare of a man close to the Radius Building.

He has not yet been identified, MEN reports.

Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service and North West Ambulance Service were also called to the incident.

The scene remains cordoned off, stretching from the Croma and Panama Hatty’s restaurants off Fairfax Road to part of the Radius Building near Farmfoods and the public car park.

The death is not being treated as suspicions, Greater Manchester Police confirmed.
