Occasional Digest - a story for you

Alison Brie has seemingly revealed that she’s bisexual.

The star recently stopped by BuzzFeed with her husband Dave Franco for their notable video series ‘Celebs Read Thirst Tweets’.

Brie read out the following tweet, “Listen I am bisexual for a reason and that reason is strictly to be used in a threesome by Dave Franco and Alison Brie,” before high-fiving Franco. Brie then added: “That’s also why I’m bisexual.”

“You’ve been waiting for this tweet, from someone who you don’t know who they are or what they look like?” Franco then asked, to which she responded: “Yeah.”

While many suggested that Brie may have been joking, as a result of her humorous delivery, the internet celebrated the news, with one fan saying the manner in which she came out is the “most Alison Brie thing ever”.

“Alison Brie saying she’s bisexual, oh this is a win for the girls and the gays,” said another.

Brie is currently promoting her new Prime Video rom-com Somebody I Used to Know, which was directed by Franco. Released to praise from critics, the film follows a reality TV showrunner (Brie) who returns to her hometown and reconnects with her ex-boyfriend (Jay Ellis).

She is best known for her lauded performance as Annie Edison in NBC’s cult comedy Community (2009-2015), which was recently confirmed to return for a film adaptation on Peacock – fulfilling the show’s promise of “six seasons and a movie”.

Since starring in Community, Brie has starred in a string of successful shows such as BoJack Horseman (2014-2020) and GLOW (2017-2019), both on Netflix.

The actress has also made her mark on the film industry with roles in Scream 4 (2011), Sleeping with Other People (2012), The Little Hours, The Post (both 2017), Promising Young Woman, Horse Girl, The Rental and Happiest Season (all 2020).

Brie will next star in the upcoming action comedy Freelance alongside John Cena.
