More than 300,000 bottles of Starbucks Vanilla Frappuccino chilled coffee drinks have been recalled because of potential glass in the beverage.
PepsiCo, which distributes Starbucks brand ready-to-drink coffee beverages, voluntarily issued the recall of 25,200 cases (with 12 bottles in each case), according to the Food and Drug Administration site. The reason for the recall, according to the FDA site, is foreign object (glass).
The drinks were sold nationwide, according to the recall, which was issued in late January.
PepsiCo initiated the recall on behalf of the North American Coffee Partnership, the joint venture it created with Starbucks in 1994. In a statement, the organization said the products, which are not sold at Starbucks locations, are being removed from other retail stores.
