The dog walker, 45, disappeared after dropping her children off at school in St Michael’s on Wyre, Lancashire, on Friday January 27.
Since then there has been no trace of the mum-of-two, leaving her family in agony despite extensive searches.
But police are set to hold a press conference at 11.30am today where they will give an update into their investigation.
Assistant Chief Constable Peter Lawson and the Senior Investigating Officer Detective Supt Rebecca Smith will answer questions about their search.
It comes after The Sun revealed cops were handed a mystery “stained” glove found in the field where the mother of two was last seen, it emerged tonight.
In a dramatic twist, the blue ski glove was taken away in an evidence bag last week despite police still maintaining Nicola was swept away in a river.
The police theory she fell into the Wyre in a tragic accident has been questioned by relatives who say there is no evidence of that.
Lancashire Police confirmed that their controversial river hypothesis had not changed on February 7 — the same day that two walkers stumbled upon the glove.
It was yards from where Nicola was last seen, and close to where her mobile phone was left on a bench.
Two people were arrested tonight for sending malicious messages to parish councillors over her disappearance.
Lancashire Police said they received reports of the messages to Wyre Council members over the weekend leading to the arrest of a man, aged 49, from Manchester on suspicion of malicious communications offences.
He has been released on bail, pending further enquiries, until May 12.
A woman, 20, from Oldham, Greater Manchester, has also been held on suspicion of the same offence and remains in police custody.
Wyre Council removed the contact details of Inskip with Sowerby Parish councillors after several received “vile” telephone calls over the weekend in relation to the case.
