A truck driver has been charged with 46 offences in relation to a shock crash that left dozens of students and staff in hospital last year.
Emergency services took 33 people to hospital after the crash in the early hours of September 21 on the Western Freeway near Bacchus Marsh.
Victoria Police allege the truck ran into the bus carrying the students, who were headed to Melbourne airport for a school camp, causing the bus to roll down an embankment.
The 60-year-old truck driver has been charged with 46 offences including reckless conduct causing serious injury, dangerous driving causing serious injury and reckless conduct endangering life.
One student and the truck driver were flown to hospital with serious injuries at the time.
The Croydon man will appear in the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court this afternoon.
