A 29-year-old Brisbane man has been charged with more than a dozen domestic violence offences after three children were found with critical and extensive injuries.

Emergency services were called to a house in Wishart in the city’s south about 9:30pm on Saturday to find a five-year-old boy with significant injuries.

Police said two other children, a six-year-old girl and an eight-year-old boy, were found in the garage with extensive non-threatening injuries.

The three children were taken to Queensland’s Children’s Hospital for treatment.

The five-year-old remains in a critical condition.

The man, who police say is known to the children, was taken into custody and the Wishart property was declared a crime scene.

He has been charged with seven counts of assault occasioning bodily harm, three counts each of torture and assault occasioning bodily harm whilst armed, and one count of grievous bodily harm.

He was refused bail and is expected to appear before Brisbane Magistrates Court today.
