Occasional Digest - a story for you

Good morning, tennis fans

Andy Murray is back in action at the Australian Open in just over 30 minutes.

The Brit has fought his way into Round Three after taking five hours and 45 minutes to beat Aussie Thanasi Kokkinakis 4-6 6-7 7-6 6-3 7-5.

He now faces Spaniard Roberto Bautista Agut.

The match ended at 4.05am in the morning.

Murray fumed: “It ended in a bit of a farce. Amazingly people stayed until the end, and I really appreciate people doing that.

“Some people obviously need to work the following day and everything.

“But if my child was a ball kid for a tournament and they’re coming home at five in the morning, as a parent, I’m snapping at that.

“It’s not beneficial for them. It’s not beneficial for the umpires, the officials.

“I don’t think it’s amazing for the fans. It’s not good for the players.

“When you start the night matches late and have conditions like that, these things are going to happen.”

Can Murray progress past the last 32?
