Noel met publicist Sara, 51, in 2000 and she became his second wife in 2011.
A source said: “It is a great shame but they are trying to keep it civilised.”
The couple’s spokesman confirmed their split after 22 years, saying their two sons remain their priority.
Noel, is understood to be living in North London.
He and music PR Sara, 51, holidayed on a yacht last year.
But they have not been seen out together recently — with Noel spotted on his own with friends.
The couple’s spokesman said last night: “Noel and Sara will continue to look after their children who remain the priority.
“They ask the media to respect their privacy and that of our family at this time.”
A source added: “It is a great shame but they’re trying to keep it as civilised as possible.
“Noel has moved out, but in time Sara might want to move back to London. They’re working everything out steadily to minimise the disruption.”
Sara’s relationship with brother-in-law Liam is strained and was a factor in the band’s 2009 split.
She met Noel when he chatted her up at Ibiza club Space in 2000.
They wed in 2011 at the Lime Wood Hotel in Hampshire — without Liam attending.

Sara was named as a factor in Noel’s divorce from first wife Meg Mathews, though he has always denied being unfaithful.
Speaking to Vogue in 2020, Sara said she kept a card with Noel’s number “like it was a religious f***ing artefact”.
The pair briefly split in 2002 after Sara branded him “too childish” to wed and have kids.
They reconciled and became regulars on the London party scene — often with Liam and his second wife Nicole Appleton.
In 2007 Noel and Sara welcomed first son Donovan, followed by Sonny in 2010.
In 2020 she revealed neither boy had met uncle Liam, 50.
Sara and Liam first fell out in 2002. At one stage the singer was said to have called her 11 times in one night to hurl insults.
Noel has regularly insisted he would never reconcile with Liam because of verbal attacks on his wife.
Sources say she remained fiercely opposed to any reunion between the brothers.
Since Oasis’ split Noel formed High Flying Birds.
