When one woman faced an onslaught of trolls who criticized her weight, she responded in style by modeling her latest shopping haul.
Body-positive influencer Meagan filmed the video in defiance of juvenile trolls who made one of her older clips go viral for the wrong reason – a targeted harassment campaign.
“If you’re new to my page, hello, my name is Meagan,” she said by way of introduction. “I am a fat woman and I’m not ashamed of who I am.”
Rather than feeling ashamed when critics attacked her, Meagan decided to treat herself to some new clothing from Rebdolls.
Before she tried them on, she issued a disclaimer.
“If at any time during this video, you feel the urge to comment about my health or my body, keep it to yourself,” she said.
First, she tried on a pink ruched maxi dress, currently on sale for $15, which hugged her curves.
“I’m living for this,” she said, turning to admire herself in the dress.
Meagan bought the maxi in a 4X. Thanks to the ruching, the dress could be worn at its full length or scrunched for a higher hemline.
Then, she modeled some versatile crop tops. First, she chose a basic shirt in a pretty red shade.
“Just a little plain crop top,” she said, pairing the shirt with a sweater and jeans. “You can wear it however you want.”
She tried on another crop top next, a bright yellow shirt with an off-the-shoulder fit. The yellow top is no longer available, but pink and orange ones are.
“The crop top’s pretty low, but it does stretch,” she said. “It’s got a cute off-the-shoulder look,”
The third crop top had long sleeves, thick black material, and a drawstring in the middle.
Meagan demonstrated how the handy string allowed her to wear the shirt as a longer top or give it a cinched look.
Her next top slipped into bralette territory, especially since Meagan couldn’t wear anything underneath.
“I have to go free with this one,” she said, “but I love that you can see my tattoo.”
The cage-style top left the skin between her breasts exposed, so her sternum tattoo was on full display.
That top is no longer available, but her next bralette, a bright green fabric with sexy cutouts, had the same effect.
“This is from their athleticwear, their sports bra,” Meagan said. The bra is still available in other colors.
“I love the color, I love the cut, I’m here for it!” said Meagan, who loved how it showed off her skin and her tattoo.
She thanked her viewers for tuning in and sharing in the fun DIY fashion show.
“I hope you enjoyed it,” she said. “And if you didn’t? Go fly a kite!”
