A decades-long campaign for a new hospital in Victoria’s fast-growing West Gippsland region has paid off, with both major parties now committing to the project if they win the state election.
Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews travelled to Warragul on Monday to announce a re-elected Labor government would spend between $610 and $675 million to build a new hospital on a greenfields site in Drouin East.
It matches a previous commitment from the Victorian opposition.
More to come.
