A toddler has tragically died after they were hit by a car in a horror driveway incident.
Multiple emergency crews and a Westpac rescue helicopter rushed to Rathmines – a suburb of Lake Macquarie in NSW‘s Hunter region – just after 2.30pm on Monday.
There were reports a young child had been hit in a driveway on Rosemary Row.
NSW Ambulance officers immediately began treating the 22-month old child but despite their best efforts, the child died at the scene.

Police were in attendance on Monday afternoon and have established a crime scene and commenced inquiries.
A 38-year-old male driver was taken to John Hunter Hospital for mandatory testing.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
